super zoom digital cameras

Filed under: Uncategorized — masterwee @ 2:50 pm

One of the frustration of traveling with a digital camera around is that their is normally not enough ‘zoom’ power build into the camera. But if you go for a D SLR then your ‘zoom’ power is limited by your budget and your check in luggage limits. Well, many manufacturers have thought of this problem and now give you the ability to have the biggest ‘zoom’ power you ever desire in a small package. From Olympus there is a SP570UZ that packs 20x zoom from 26 to 520mm, from Fujifilm, there is the FinePix S8100fd which has 18x zoom from 27 to 486mm, from Panasonic, there is the Lumix FZ18 which has 18x zoom from 28 to 504mm and now Nikon also join the gang with the new CoolPix P80 which has 18x zoom from 27 to 486 mm. If you were to carry all this ‘zoom’ power around on a D SLR, you probably need a wheel barrel. A very good alternative for those on the road trip and would like to lighten their loads.

airasia made rm246mil profit…

Filed under: Uncategorized — masterwee @ 12:33 pm

i am curious, the company invested about rm4,362 in plant and equipment and i think majority of it is the air craft. that means (aside from other assets invested) all those investments only return 5% profits…

that means the average malaysian is doing better if you look at the profit margin as we are getting 5.5% from our EPF…

is that logical thinking, you be the judge of that.

By CHAN CHING THUT

PETALING JAYA: AirAsia Bhd’s net profit for the quarter ended Dec 31 expanded 73% to RM245.72mil from RM142.05mil in the previous corresponding quarter due to higher yields and contained unit cost.

Revenue rose 43% to RM632.72mil from RM442.84mil previously. This was attributed to 21% growth in passenger volume, 17% higher average ticket sales and 49% growth in ancillary income.

Group chief executive officer Datuk Tony Fernandes said demand for low fares remained strong and load factors were at high levels despite significant capacity addition of 40%.

“Ancillary income rose 49% to RM41.53mil. This reflects the increased service penetration and the success of our travel insurance and greater number of hotel rooms booked through our website.

Maimun campaigns on bicycle

KUALA TERENGGANU: Barely a day after 89-year-old Maimun Yusuf made headlines as possibly the country’s oldest ever election candidate, the grandmother sparked off a media frenzy again when she was not seen at home for almost the whole day.

Reporters and photographers who had gathered at her house in Kampung Gong Gemia since the morning waited anxiously, but Maimun was nowhere to be seen.

Several of her neighbours said that she had gone campaigning, while others said she had returned to her family home in Kampung Atas Tol.
